Blockchain | BitTorrent tested Blockchain-based streaming platforms

The file-sharing company, BitTorrent, will be testing the blockchain-based live streaming platform on Q3 2019. This announcement was announced on their blog on August 27th.

The streaming platform is called BitTorrent Live (BLive), it supports live video content and instant messaging services. Additionally, the underlying system is reported to contain the top user chart and user relationship features.

BitTorrent is planning to release Blive in three versions, namely the alpha, beta and complete versions from Q3 2019 to Q1 2020. The alpha version will feature a small group of users to test the platform internally when the developer develops.

This platform will later support several different payment system methods such as using Bitcoin (BTC) and BitTorrent (BTT), as well as no transaction fees. Some third-party services are also supported for withdrawals and deposits, such as PayPal, Google Wallet, Android Pay, Apple Pay, WeChat and Alipay.

In addition, BLive also will support the acquisition and gift-giving of BTT tokens to users for activities such as content creation, technical maintenance, and event planning. Users can also buy gifts using BTT and send them to content creators.
